A Visual Arts Workshop for Grades 3-12

Appreciating Asian cultures and their long history of weaving, dyeing, and fabric design, fiber artist Jamie Root introduces students to the non-woven textile, felt, and discusses the wide range of uses of this technique in Asian culture. Students will experience the wet felt-making of Tibetan culture by creating a coaster-sized piece of felt.

Requirements: a sink; table with chairs for students. Teachers must be present at all times during workshops.

Creative Discipline: Visual Arts

Fees:  $135 single, $200 each for 2 or more on the same day | Materials Fee: $2.50 per student
