Art speaks to us – but what does it say? Lines from Art workshops ask students this challenging question and encourage them to develop skills in creative writing, art appreciation, and social emotional learning. Students will view and discuss a painting from the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art and select a color from the work to personify and use in a free verse poem of their own creation. Prepare for a classroom full of proud creators and junior docents!
Requirements: Notebook paper, pencils, crayons/markers, white typing paper (8.5x11). Teachers must be present at all times during workshops.
