Students are exposed to musical styles and instruments from four areas of the world: Gahu drumming from Ghana, West Africa, performed on Ghanian barrel drums; Brazililan samba, performed parade style; Calypso steel drumming from the Caribbean Islands; and silent movie era ragtime xylophone music from the United States. A large, colorful map is featured in this guided world tour allowing students to follow the journey of music around the world.
Requirements: Two microphones with stands; PA system; three chairs. Teachers must be present at all times during performance.
