Introduction to Musical Theatre
A Music, Dance & Theatre Residency for Grades 1-12

Ignite your child’s creativity and confidence in this Musical Theatre class! Students will create, perform, respond, and connect through singing, acting, and movement. Each session includes:
Warm-up & creative exploration: Build ensemble trust and develop vocal and physical expression.
Scene or musical number study: Learn performance techniques in story-driven pieces.
Reflection & response: Discuss choices in character, storytelling, and pacing.
Integration & showcase snippet: Explore how theatre skills connect across disciplines, such as storytelling in language arts or historical context in performance.
Aligned with Missouri’s Fine Arts Learning Standards—which emphasize four anchor areas (Create, Perform, Respond, Connect)—this program nurtures foundational theater skills while empowering students to reflect on and relate their artistic experience to their lives.
Requirements: open space. Teachers must be present at all times during workshops.
